*What phone do you have? Moto g4 plus

What plan are you on? choice

Does your plan include data, or just talk & text? tt and data

Issue Description

Was connecting Google Home to phone and all app tiles disappeared… still getting emails in…apps are present under settings…but can’t activate any.

#2

Have you tried simply powering down and restarting the phone?

#3

Yes several times

#4

Do you happen to have an SD card installed and formatted as internal storage? Sometimes a failing (or missing) SD card formatted as internal will cause the app icons to disappear, and the icons in the app drawer to be non-functional.

#5

SD card installed… several apps running off of it… majority still internal

#6

Went to settings… opened an app…copied the link to an email…opened the app from that link…

I’m out of ideas. You may wish to contact Motorola directly: https://support.motorola.com/us/en/contactus

Hi @billd.avcgdi,

If you open the Settings app and use the search function to search for “home”, then tap “home app” is Google Now Launcher selected?

#9

Home app shows “No default Home”

#10

It sounds like somehow your launcher has been disabled or uninstalled.
From a computer, you can install this to your phone:

by logging in to the play store with the same Google credentials you use on the phone.

#11

Google Now Launcher is shown as " device already has this item installed"

#12

In Settings > Apps > is it listed on the “Disabled” tab?

#13

No apps in “Apps disabled”

#14

Is this before or after you tap that setting?

#15

Opened the Settings app and used the search function to search for “home”, then tapped “home app” …showed “No default Home”
Then:
Went to Play and tried to install Launcher…showed " device already has this item installed" in both Chromebook and phone.

If you are not able to select the Google launcher in setting–>apps–>advance–>default apps–> home section, I would try and install another launcher to see if it would work or force the option to select a default launcher something like the Nova launcher (free version Lind below)
