I’ve often wondered about the battery life of a brand new phone in this scenario. It’s 2020 now. You buy a phone that was launched in 2018 originally. How much has the battery already been impacted by sitting around? I assume the batteries has been sitting in the phone waiting for purchase. Anyone have any thoughts?
The most significant amount of wear that occurs in batteries is charge/discharge cycles. Batteries that are partially charged don’t incur too much wear just sitting. It isn’t great if the battery is completely discharged and sits, but as long as it has some charge, it really shouldn’t be much wear.
