Black screen, cannot reboot phone

Hi, my phone (E, second generation, I believe) is stuck on a black screen. I cannot even reboot it. I am not sure if I am able to receive txts or calls. Suggestions?

Thanks,

Giordana

Try to hard restart the phone with a long press of the power button by holding it down for 7 to 10 seconds.

An unresponsive phone can take up to 2-3 minutes to respond. If you feel the phone is discharged…try charging

it with a known good charger for a least 20 minutes and repeat the above procedure to see if you can revive it.

I was able to reboot by pressing the on/off button for a long time. Still not sure what froze the screen.

Thank you, it worked!

First, check to see if the charger or phone has failed:

Watch the screen while you plug the phone in. Does the charge level appear for 10 seconds?

If it doesn’t, either the charger has failed (or plugged into an outlet that is switched off) or there is a problem with the phone itsef.

If it does, is the charge level at least 20%? The phone does need an adequate charge level to start up.

Finally, try pressing and holding the start button for up to 2 minutes.
