Call Connectivity Tests

Tested call connectivity with various devices and call connections. All tests were done with RW cell phone(s) connected to WiFi. Did this just to satisfy my curiosity!

Here is a list of the devices. I included the last four digits of phone number of each device to hopefully help make it more clear what’s connected to what during call tests. Tried to use the long description in most places along with number just in case you don’t want to look up device phone number. Some may find names easier and some like numbers.

RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111)
Second RW cell phone (5306)
Off network landline (1208)

Used RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111) to call the off network landline (1208).
WITH CALL CONNECTED –

  1. ATA handset had dial-tone and was able to call second RW cell phone (5306) and have clear call.

** HUNG UP HANDSET AND 5306 ONLY – KEPT CELL 4111 CONNECTED TO LANDLINE 1208 **

  1. Then used second RW cell phone (5306) to call RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111). Call rings ATA handset. You can answer with handset and have a clear conversation between handset and second RW cell phone (5306). Note: RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111) is still connected to off network landline (1208) with clear conversation.

** HUNG UP HANDSET AND 5306 CELL ONLY - KEPT CELL 4111 CONNECTED TO LANDLINE 1208 **

  1. Then used handset to call RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111). Got incoming call notification on RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111) and then after 6 rings got prompt to “please enter your password followed by the # sign”. Of course, as noted in other posts, this is the VM you cannot access. Once you hang up handset you also get missed call notification on the RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111). Looks strange to get missed call from yourself

You will also get the option to swipe up and take incoming call before call rolls to VM prompt. If you pickup you will, of course, disconnect original call (in this test 4111 to landline 1208) and you’re now connected between the RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111) and the handset.

** HUNG UP ALL CALLS **

Did steps 4 and 5 below between two RW cell phones to remove any call routing changes that might happen using RW cell phones and the off network landline used in steps 1-3 above. Don’t know that it makes any difference but what the heck….it is a test!

  1. Used second RW cell phone (5306) to call RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111). With call connected - used handset to call second RW cell phone (5306). 5306 had call incoming call notification and then call rolled to VM properly and successfully left VM on second RW cell phone (5306).

** HUNG UP **

  1. Used RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111) to call second RW cell phone (5306). With call connected between RW cell phones - used handset to call RW cell phone associated to ATA (4111). Same results noted in step 3 above. It really is a repeat of step 3; call is just connected between two RW cell phones instead of one RW cell phone to off network landline.

Just had fun testing the various calling connections and thought someone might find this useful. Hope I got all my notes transferred correctly to this post. Sure others have tried other combinations too!
