Can't answer incoming calls on moto g6

I just received 2 calls in a row in my new moto g6 phone ( replacement for my moto g3) and I could hear the ring, but couldn’t find a way to answer.

I looked for answers other places, but they don’t address the moto g6 specifically which seems to have different setting options.

did you try

Go into the phone app and clear cash and data. Then, use the phone to get the app running again and the incoming call screen works!
