Notes
All BYOD Phones need to activated on GSM first, and if CDMA is supported by Republic then a support ticket can move the phone to CDMA after the GSM activation.
- * Indicates that this phone is CDMA capable, but not yet supported with Republic at this time.
-
** An activated CDMA SIM card cannot be moved between phones.
If the member needs to move a CDMA SIM card from one phone to another, and both phones support the same type of CDMA SIM card, the CDMA SIM card must first be de-activated. This is most easily accomplished by activating a GSM SIM card on that line of service, which de-activates the CDMA SIM card.
The key is that the type of CDMA SIM can only move between phones that use the same type.- None means phone is not compatible with CDMA
- ISIM phone to ISIM phone - I
- CSIM phone to CSIM phone - C
- SIMOTA phone to SIMOTA phone - OTA

Only the unique RW hybrid versions of these phones work with Republic.
NFC (Near Field Communications) is necessary if you want the phone to work with pay services like Google Pay. It is also handy for wirelessly transferring data between NFC-capable phones.
Inductive (Wireless) Charging is very nice if your car (or your next car) has an inductive charging tray. Many new car models offer this feature.
GSM/CDMA is a very important consideration. The major CDMA carriers are Sprint and Verizon. The major GSM carriers are AT&T and T-Mobile… The portability and resale value is enhanced by having CDMA and GSM capability. RW works with both carrier types but your ability to switch from one to the other will also depend on this capability.
Having an SD Card slot can be important if you want to keep a lot of photographs and music on your phone. Normally an SD card it not included with the phone. In the chart above, “Yes” indicates there is a slot but not an SD card.
Having Band 71 will be useful to the GSM subscribers as T-Mobile is rapidly expanding their band 71 deployment.
