Dropping calls constantly after update to Nougat

Issue Description

Moto G4 plus
No data, just call and text $15 plan

Ever since my husband and I updated our phones over the weekend, we’ve been dealing with constant signal loss and our phones say they are on a roaming network even when we’re at home. The only calls I’ve been able to sustain are on WiFi, but we don’t have WiFi at home. I haven’t tried anything yet because I don’t want to break our phones.

That didn’t work. The same issue is still happening.

Specifically, the signal with says 3G with no lines/bars and an exclamation point or it says the same thing, but with a little triangle indicating roaming which it has never done before.

Please open your phone’s dialer and type in *#*#786#*#*

Do not press the send button after dialing this.

Does anything appear on your screen after dialing that sequence?

The comment from @michellen suffered from the forum software handling numbers. Try this

*#*#786#*#* (with no spaces when dialing)
If nothing happens then you are on GSM
If presented with a SprintDM menu your on CDMA
