Issue Description

More than 6 months ago, [I totally have forgotten when], there was a Republic update. Till that time both phones worked over the home Router over WiFi Perfectly.

Immediately after the update, over the WiFi incoming and outgoing calls would not connect to the other parties. We did notice that if the other parties hung on for maybe 30 seconds while not seeming like they were connected [on both their end and ours] then sometimes the connection would be made. We saw others had the same problem, so we tried a fix suggested at the time, however it did nothing to help. Forgot what the fix/fixes were suggested.

Since then, We simply got used to disconnecting from WiFi to make calls. When recieving, we try to disconnect from WiFi quickly, however we find the other party usually hangs up when they don’t hear us, so we just call them back. We are about done with this system, and worry that new phones won’t even help.

This sounds like you may have a home WiFi problem. Depending on how close your neighbors are, one of them may be interferring with your WiFi.

  • I would suggest you start with Quick Check #1 found in Router Tweaks - Keep WiFi 1st - a Community Guide
  • Once that is done, then monitor to see if it is better? Now proceed to Quick Check #2 which if you are no longer failing can be saved as a benchmark
    • Else attach a screenshot of the app showing the levels of the signal, the overlap etc and the community will review and chime in with suggestions
  • What router are you using (make/model/ver is helpful and can often be found on the back or bottom of the router

Hi @ryang.7ypf1b,

  • Did you resolve the problems you were having with your phone?
    • If so could you share with us what fixed the problem so we can possibly pass it on to the next community member with the same symptoms
  • If not, would you like to re-engage with the community and see if we can get it back on track
