Issue Description

My Moto G5 Plus won’t turn on fully when charged overnight.
I changed chargers, cords, sockets. I held the power button and the Motorola Icon appears on the screen. The icon is steady but flickers off momentarily then comes back on I held the power on button for 30 seconds plus several times. The phone stays in the same mode,

Hi @pauls.gll2c4,

Try holding the power button in for a whole 2 minutes. This sometimes resets the phone that seems to be stuck. It may seem like a long time but just try it. A factory reset is a last resort fix and I don’t suggest it until all avenues are tried. Others may have some helpful suggestions too!

Thanks, I tried twice, first time for 2 minutes then second time for 3 minutes… It just keeps flickering. I think I will let my battery run out and let the phone die. Then charge and try to turn on. Maybe the will reset the phone. Thanks for the suggestion…

I also tried holding down both the power and volume buttons.
Then tried rebooting, turning off, starting… still the same results…

Generally, this indicates a hardware failure and there won’t be anything that you can do to resolve it.

I fixed it by performing a factory reset on the phone.
The only thing lost was my Text Threads…
Everything returned. Problem
solved. Thanks
