##Issue Description

We just received our Galaxy J3. i punched the nano sim card and inserted it into the proper slot. When powering the phone on, it says, “no sim card.” I have tried every conceivable direction to turn the sim card, to no avail. Any suggestions?

When you open the Republic app, what does it say?

Please try to turn the phone off, remove and reseat the SIM card, and turn the phone back on. This link should help you with this process.

Hi @jenniferh.39mvrf

My son just reactivated a J3 for a friend of his and kept getting the SIM card error. Turns out in his haste he was placing it in the SD card slot.

The document provided by @coreyk was the one that I used to identify his error … (Not saying this is your issue, rather sharing the story just in case).

I had an additional new SIM card at home. Upon inserting that card, the phone worked fine! It must have just come with a bad card…

Thanks for following up here to let us know what resolved the issue for you @jenniferh.39mvrf. Although I’m sorry to read the original SIM card was bad, I’m glad you were able to get activated. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do for you .
Do you need another SIM to replace the one you had on hand?
