GSM or CDMA card for NW Lower Michigan?

What phone do you have? moto play

What plan are you on? my choice

Does your plan include data, or just talk & text? data

I had verizon which I was told was CDMA. my moto play w/republic has CDMA.

I am on the edge of CDMA reception on Lake Michigan in Benzie County. Cell service WAS more consistant with Verizon. If not for WiFi capability I would have to go back to Verizon.

Wondering if there now are better cell reception sources in my area?

According to the maps I use, coverage is pretty good for both GSM and CDMA around route 31 (GSM has spotty coverage for a while halfway between Bear Lake and Benzonia). GSM looks much better in the Frankfort/Elberta area. It’s probably worth opening a ticket, explaining the issue, and asking for a GSM SIM to try out.

Thank you! I am about 4 miles south of Elberta. I have noticed inability to send texts while fishing off “the wall” on Betsie Lake.

Betsie Lake looks well covered by the GSM partner. Four miles south looks iffy. Still probably worth a try to see if it might work out for you.

Did a GSM SIM card end up working out better for you?

I decided to keep the CDMA. I had verizon/cdma before and I had similar reception with that. Also at first I didnt understand the new motog /republic phone used my internet. GSM looks like it would work better while in town.
