Home phone adapter - where to locate?

I just ordered the home phone adapter. It will be here tomorrow, but I wanted to know if anyone has tips on where to place it in my home. Would it be a problem putting it under my cable modem? I don’t know how much I need to worry about interference.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • If we stack electronic equipment, we open ourselves up to many problems:
    • Interference, as you mention … due to proximity of power supplies is not good and should be avoided
    • Heat transfer from one device to another can lead to premature component failure and intermittent problems
  • As we need to hook both our router and phones together via Ethernet cable we are limited to choice, but maxim separation between devices and ensuring adequate air circulation is always preferred.
    • 3 ft seems to be the common distance that others recommend

That is what I thought, but I appreciate you confirming that. I will space them as far as I can.
