I’m trying to activate my new phone and copy from my old phone. My old phone committed suicide and has no display. The new phone wants me to oen the Google Settings on the old device. I cannot do that. What can I do?

It is always helpful to the community to know which phones you are referencing for more detailed instructions.
If your suicidal phone was set to allow Google to backup the device, your Contacts, Apps, Calendar, Photos, etc. should repopulate on the new phone when you sign into that Google account during activation.
You may be able to access some information by connecting the phone to a PC via a USB cord.
Again, the more information you can provide, the better.
