My son dropped and damaged his republic wireless moto x 2nd gen phone beyond repair. We want to order a new phone but keep the same number. Do we do this when ordering or do we transfer when the new phone arrives?
When the new phone arrives activate it as a replacement for the broken phone. The number will transfer instantly and the broken phone will be deactivated. There are some other, different considerations:
The new phone will only work on the new plans so the plan on the broken phone will not transfer.
The broken phone has Sprint coverage, the new phone will have T-Mobile coverage. Here is a link to their coverage map:
- Some, but not all, of the new phones will eventually work on Sprint.
