I would like to transfer a JPG from my computer to my phone. Connecting the phone to my laptop USB does not seem to recognize the device!
No cord is neccesary. Upload the JPG to Google Photos from your computer. You can then open up the Google Photos app on your phone and view/download the photo:
Upload photos to Google Photos from your browser
- On your computer, open photos.google.com.
- At the top right, click Upload .
- Find and select your photos.
- Click Open .
You can also drag photos from your computer to the album to upload them to Google Photos. If you drag a photo to a specific album, the photo will be uploaded to that album.
Save a photo or video from Google Photos app to your Android Device
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
- Select a photo or video
- Tap More Save to device . If the photo is already on your device, this option won’t appear.
On the later Motorola models the USB connection to the computer defaults to just charging the phone. To have file.folder interface you need to pull down the notification shade and change the connection type. This will let you copy a file the old fashioned way but I sure do like the way @cbwahlstrom outlined in his post.
