How to transfer existing phone to son without ending his service


We bought our son a phone when he went to college and he still uses it. He is getting married and I want to give control of the phone (and bill) over to him but if I assign it to him, we have to keep paying his bill. Can I transfer it to him without his service being interrupted or cancelled?


Yes, you can do that by submitting a help ticket to split off the phone into its own separate account. It might take a few steps back and forth with support to set it all up but this is something that is routinely done, so you shouldn’t have any issues getting that set up without interruption of service.
