Is my number a wireless number?

My company is going to be giving me a company phone and I want use my republic wireless number it. Is my number right now a VoIP number or is it wireless number since it was a wireless number before I joined republic wireless ?

All Republic numbers are currently hosted with its former corporate parent Bandwidth.com. Bandwidth is a VoIP carrier. According to the FCC, VoIP is deemed to be wireline (landline) as opposed to wireless. Origin of the number is irrelevant.

Unless your company is using Cricket Wireless, it shouldn’t matter. The only service providers I’m aware of that refuse to transfer “landlines” are Cricket Wireless and Google Voice. The transfer might take longer (days rather than hours) but can be done, so long as the new service provider is willing.
