Lost phone/New Phone Activation Confusion


  1. I lost my phone, but I never deactivated it
  2. I have a replacement phone, a Moto E 2nd Generation (the same model that I lost)
  3. The replacement phone was given to me by a friend, who is an RW. customer. It has her old SIM card, which she wiped clea.

I’m in the middle of setting up my phone and I tried to make a call. The screen that came up says

“This phone isn’t configured to make calls. Do you want to change this phone’s plan?”

I don’t want to lose my old plan! What should I do?


Here is the procedure, where are you in the process? Sounds like you may need to soldier on. Worst case scenario you would need to open a support ticket to recovery your number.
