Moto E4 is dying but I don't want to lose texts

My Motorola E4 is dying and I’ve finally come to terms with buying a new phone. I’m thinking either Moto E5 play or Moto g6. There are texts on my phone that I don’t want to lose. Is there anyway that I can transfer those texts onto a new phone or back-up those texts?
Would anyone also have any recommendations on which phone to get?

Hello @erinc.anp1zo
There are many 3rd party apps that can transfer/backup text like

As for phone recommendation of the ones you listed I would pick the Moto G6 as it’s a better phone that can be used on either Republic’s partners where the Moto E5 play is a low end phone that can only be used on Republic’s GSM partner [T-Mobile] as it has no CDMA radio for Republic’s CDMA partner [Sprint]
