Moto G 4 photo transfer

When I Connect my moto g 4 to my laptop with windows 10 using a usb cable I get a message the folder is empty. How do I transfer my pictures?

The default USB connection is charging only.

You will have to pull down the notification shade (one finger slide down)

and change the “USB for charging” to “USB for File Transfer (MTP)”

I have pulled the shade down and see no selection for the usb only wifi, Bluetooth, do not disturb, republic, airplane mode, auto rotate, flashlight, location, and cast. What am I missing

What you are describing is the quick access menu…which you get by

two finger slide down…or doings a one-finger slide down twice.

On one finger slide down your home screen should give you to notification

shade…it will have a “Connected to Cell” or “Connected to WiFi” notification

etc

one of them should read

“USB for Charging”

Touch for more options

Also, note that you have to do this every time you connect on USB…as it always reverts back to charging only
