Moto g fast doesnt see I have inserted sim card

I attempted to switch sim card from my moto X 1st gen to a moto G fast that I inherited from another Republic user, phone says please insert card when card is already inserted

Issue Description

I tried a power boot repeatedly, as the screen suggested, still problem persists. When I open republic app it says to buy a SIM card or insert one, while SIM is already inserted

The SIM card from a Moto X1 cannot be moved to any other phone. Did you buy the Moto G Fast from Republic? If so, please put back in the SIM card that came with it. If not, you’ll need a SIM card from our online store.
