Moto G from moto E

my husband factory reset our daughters old moto G but cant figure out how to transfer his number from his moto E.

If both phones are now activated, then he will have to open a support request to transfer the phone number. If the Moto G still isn’t activated, then connect the Moto G to WiFi and go to the activation process and make sure he chooses upgrade/replacement.

If you still need help, then open a support ticket and try the chat line. It’s showing that it’s available as of 8:09 am Pacific time. It’s located at the bottom of the help page under Open a Ticket. Republic Help

I see Republic is doing maintenance, until 11:00 am Eastern time that is affecting activations for the Moto phones you have.
