When will republic start supporting the moto g5?
Just as soon as the finish certifying it.
Patience, itâs not spring yet.
Support for the Motorola G Plus (5 Gen)?
Spring has sprung
and grass has riz
where last yearâs modelâs
gravestones is.
How long does that typically take? Is there an official ETA?
Most of us are customers just like you. We wonât know until RW announced it.
First off Lenovo hasnât even released the phone yet. Secondly the G5 plus is the one to get because of better specs and larger battery. Third it was just shown off yesterday at the MWC 2017 electronics trade show. To answer when how about the answer that fits⌠âSoonâ.

early release in Brazil already according to android head lines
From what I have read the US will only get the G5 Plus.
Does Republic answer questions like this or just let customers speculate?
Republic will make no announcement on any phone until the OEM gives an OK (this has been standard practice since 2012) (so until there an announcement it will be just Speculation)
just other let you know Republic started supporting the Moto G4 at the launch of 3.0 (just 2 weeks after it was first released
Republic will need to test the phone before they can put it on the approve list and before they will stock it (they typically get advance copies to do this testing before launch
Republic has had good relationship with Motorola/Lenovo so I do not see them not carrying these phones
News read the techie news!
Probably after the phone is released for sale from Lenovorola. it hasnât been released and RW donât talk about timing and dates. How about whenever! Google it thereâs tons of news articles on new phones.

edit: Hereâ a hands on video on the G5 & G5+
see this article. they mention it goes on sale March 31st. Republic wireless has gotten better at accepting phones as soon as they come out since they are unlocked. website does report that republic wireless will offer it.

that is the Moto G5 Plus and not the G5 (the rumor is the G5 will not hit the US market)
The caption under the picture does list Republic Wireless:
The company has announced that the Moto G5 Plus will come to the U.S. on March 31 starting at $229 for the 2GB/32GB version. There will also be a 4GB/64GB model for $299. Pre-orders for both variants begin March 24, and the phone will be available at a variety of retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, Costco, Flash Wireless, Fryâs, Motorola.com, Newegg, Republic Wireless, Target, Ting, and Walmart. The phone is unlocked and works with all four major U.S. carriers.
I want the g5 instead because of the removable battery.
As has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, it doesnât look like Motorola intends to release the G5 in the U.S., only the G5 Plus. To date, Republic has only certified variants released to the U.S. market.
