Moving from Moto g5+ to a new Moto g5+

My Republic Moto g5+ ended up in the pool. I have attempted to dry out, etc also worked with repair shop it is toast. Republic no longer carries Moto g5+ but Motorola does. Can I just use my existing sim chip and expect it to continue to work on the Republic Network.

Maybe, maybe not. If the existing SIM is GSM and survived the swim (it probably did), it will move to another phone. If it’s CDMA, things get more complicated, so let us know if that’s the case for further insight. I just want to assure you that if you do need to replace the SIM card, you will not notice a difference - your Republic Wireless phone number is tied to your account, not the SIM card, and the SIM card does not store any personal data like contacts or photos. If you’ve been allowing your phone to sync to Google, those things are backed up at contacts.google.com and photos.google.com.
