My voicemail suddenly wants a password, so I can't get my voicemails now. What happened?

I never had a password on my voicemail, neither did my wife. We have different kinds of Republic phones. Suddenly today we’re both locked out of our voicemail, which now wants us to enter passwords for access.

You can use 1234, your default password when calling from your phone.

Note: In order to call from a different cell phone or landline, your voicemail password must be something other than the default 1234. Be sure that you have changed the voicemail password.

If you’re using a DEFY XT and you need to reset your voicemail password, please open a Help ticket for additional assistance.

Same problem. Why today, after over three years?

Thanks. It did work. However, now I have to enter a password every time that I desire access to voicemail. This was not a requisite for over three years. Do you have any idea as to why it became a requisite (necessity to enter password from a Republic phone to access voicemail). Again, thank you for the link … just another inconvenience, I guess.
