Issue Description

My wife’s Moto E has died. I have an old Moto E which I’m trying to transfer her data to the old phone. I did a factory reset on both her old phone and the one which she hopes to use. While setting up the new phone, I’ve got a message which states that Republic wants to give her a new phone number■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■. That is not what we want. We want the old phone number to work on the (new) phone. Please advise

You need to activate the new phone as an ‘upgrade’ to the old phone your replacing

How old, is it a E1 or E2?

Here’s how to reactivate and transfer her number if indeed a legacy phone. Since it was inadvertently activated with a new number you will need to cancel the service for the new number prior to reactivating to replace her number.
