I just purchased a new unlocked Moto G5 Plus at Costco. My current active phone is the Moto X 1st gen. Can I take the sim card from the Moto X and place it in the Moto G5 Plus to activate it? or do I need to purchase a new republic wireless sim kit at Amazon? I would like to use the same phone number in the Moto G5 Plus and just deactivate the Moto X.
you need to purchase a new BYOD SIM Republic Wireless SIM Card Kit | Republic Wireless
your Moto X 1st Gen is CDMA and the SIM needs to stay with t (it’s link to the phone not your account, as the swapping phones by SIM swap is a GSM feature)
the BYOD SIM will be on the Republic GSM partner (if this coverage change is not a good fit then a support ticket can have the phone moved to CDMA ans a new SIM for CDMA will be sent out)
Thank you. I assumed that I would need to purchase a new one but I thought I would ask.
