No coverage with my new phone where I did with my old phone

MotoX?
What plan are you $20 choose

Everything

Issue Description

I do not have coverage in areas where I had just fine connections. It would not even send a text.
Do I just need to upgrade my plan?

What phone did you have before?

If it was one of the legacy phones, those use a different network partner, CDMA Sprint.
The Legacy phones are:

  • Moto E1 (XT1019)
  • Moto E2 (XT1526)
  • Moto G1 (XT1031)
  • Moto G3 (XT1548)
  • Moto X1 (XT1049)
  • Moto X2 (XT1094)

The new phones(3.0 and BYOP) mainly use the GSM Tmobile Network.

What phone do you have now?
See Compatible phones for a full list.

What SIM type is it? (in the RW app under About)

Could you post your zip code so the community can verify what network partner would be best for you?

My new phone is a Moto X 4. My old one was a Moto Gen 2

What you mean Moto Gen 2?
The E2 or X2?

Where did you get the new X4 from?

What is the SIM type in the About page of the RW app?

I don’t know what kind of SIM it is, but it is the smallest one.

Not asking physical size, the type.
You can view that in the RW app, under Settings, About.

Got the Moto X from the internet, but had to buy a new sim card from RW.
Moto G2 was my old phone.
If it is using T-Mobile, is there any way to change it without getting another phone? I know TMobile has no coverage around here.

SPOTSYLVANIA VA?

GSM coverage maps says strong LTE signal. Should be fine there

Where on the internet?
From RW store, Ebay, Amazon?

If you bought the BYOP sim from RW then it is the GSM sim.

It is a GSM

If you want the same coverage as your old phone…follow the instructions in this article:

Although, RW never supported a “Moto G2”. Only a E2 and X2.

Thank you.
