Not letting me cancel my service

Hello,
I received a T-Mobile phone from family and have been wanting to cancel my Republic service for 9 months now. I’m not asking for a retroactive refund for those months (which I didn’t use the phone at all), but I do want to cancel my service immediately.

When I use the Cancel Service link on the web site, it tells me the following:
We’re unable to process your request at this time because there’s a pending order open for this phone.

Please cancel my service immediately so that I can stop paying $25/month (after taxes) for a phone I no longer use.
