People are seeing my Sprint number in their caller ID not my phone number

What phone do you have? Moto G5+

What plan are you on? My Choice

Does your plan include data, or just talk & text? Data

Issue Description

Recently when I call people, either via wifi or cellular, before the call connects I hear a tone sound twice, then an extended pause, then it connects to my party.

The tone could be described as sounding like the that which you hear before a recording telling you that the number you are trying to reach is out of service; but there is no recording with a message.

Further the number that comes up on the other party’s caller ID is the second, or Sprint number, attached to my phone. This is causing problems because friends and family do not know that number and are ignoring the calls; particularly troubling if I need to reach them in an emergency.

How can I get this fixed? Is there a glitch in the system?

Problem Solved.

It turns out I had to Refresh the Republic Wireless Activation.

I discovered that on this page: A Different Number is Showing When I Make Calls or Send Texts

And the procedure to do so, also linked on the above page, is here: How to Refresh the Republic Wireless Activation

Of course I find this a minute after posting my question. :stuck_out_tongue:

The procedure worked.
