Preloaded Apps and their Definitions

Is there a definition what each of the pre-installed Apps that come with the phone do? What’s their function? Can some of them be deleted without causing any phone operating problems?

there no list of each app that comes on any phone (each phone and OEM would have different pre-installed apps)
for the most part the following have been determined to be save to disable on an Moto E (or Moto series in general)

Some of the bundled apps that you may consider disabling include Assist, Cloud Print, Drive, Google Play Books, Google Play Games, Google Play Movies and TV, Google Play Newsstand, Google+, Hangouts, HP Print Service Plugin, Motorola Alert, and Motorola Migrate. Rule of thumb, if you don’t know for sure, leave the app enabled.

Not knowing the definitions of these apps I have no clue what do they are there for…they came along with the phone. Also do I disable and then click on force stop?
