I damaged (water) my phone on vacation. It won’t turn on. I’m trying to save my photos. I’ve tried researching online and there are software programs that say they can recover it, but I haven’t tried it yet. I have a Moto G4 Plus. I know the battery is super hard to replace, but I was wondering if it has an internal SD card that can be removed? Or if the software program is the way to go? I know it might not even be possible, but I want to try.
I’m very sorry to say short of professional forensic recovery costing many hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars; it’s extremely unlikely you’ll be able to recover any information from a dead phone. I’ve yet to see anyone have significant success with the DIY software claiming to be able to do so.
The one hope would be you’ve been backing your photos up to Google’s cloud. To check on that, point your computer’s web browser to: Google Photos - All your photos organized and easy to find.
