I’m transfering one of my lines to another service provider. The transfer is complete on their end and the new phone shows my phone number. However, Republic has not canceled my service so calls are continuing to go through the old phone. How can I get this line terminated with Republic?
If the number transfer occurred very recently, you may be experiencing what is known as a period of dual service. Usually this goes away after 24 hours.
When you transfer your service, you may experience a period of dual service. Both your old and new service provider’s handsets are partially active allowing you to make outgoing phone calls on both handsets, but only receive incoming calls on one. Dual service typically lasts no longer than 24 hours.
It takes a while for the nationwide routing changes to take place. If this persists for more than 24 hours after the port was complete open a service ticket with RW.
