Republic listed as VPN?

#1

I just noticed that Republic Wireless is listed as a VPN in the settings menu on my pixel on Oero? Is there anything I need to do with that or should I just leave it off?

Leave it alone. Our app manipulates on and off so that so we can separate the data we need (but don’t bill for) when on cell.

Thanks Sean! With that said are we okay to use the Google WiFi assistant? I usually use VPNs when on public WiFi since it is safer and just want to make sure that doesn’t affect my service.

Using a VPN when attached to public WiFi generally won’t cause an issue with Internet use. The latency added by the VPN often degrades WiFi calling to the point calls are routed via cellular. From a security standpoint, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Okay thanks for info. Yeah I understand that it will switch to cellular
network. I am okay with that for the trade off of security. At least the
data stays on WiFi.
