Resetting phone to US Republic SIM after travel with international SIM

When traveling abroad, I put an international SIM into my Moto Z Play with a My Choice plan. Upon return to the US the phone would send texts, but no one ever received them.

After extended diagnosis with Republic, the problem was resolved. The sequence of steps to reset the phone for US use on the Republic SIM is as follows (with links to the steps):

  1. Remove international SIM card

  2. Clear the System Cache: How to Clear Cache on Android

  3. Insert Republic SIM

  4. Confirm Basic Network settings: Confirm Basic Network Settings

  5. Reset Network Settings: On Moto & Google on Android 8.1 / 9 OR Moto & Google on Android 7.1 OR Samsung Galaxy on Android 7.0

  6. Refresh Activation: How to Refresh the Republic Wireless Activation
