Samsung Galaxy s8+ Model Number

#1

Hi,

I am looking to buy the Galaxy s8+ to use on the Republic Wireless network. The model number on the BYOP page says that it has to be SM-G955U1. Every single phone that I have found has the model number SM-G955U, lacking the 1 that is stated on the BYOP page. Will this phone still work? I’m not sure what to do because I can’t find any phones with this exact model number. The phones I am looking at are unlocked, but they have the model number of SM-G955U instead of SM-G955U1.

Thank you.

Please see the details here: How to Find a Compatible Unlocked Phone

On the phone, it MUST say SM-G955U1 under Settings – About Phone

@davidl.8y4fic,

Many vendors use the numbers you will find by using the BYOP compatibility checker. Bring your own phone to Republic! | Republic Wireless
.
@louisdi,

Why does the information in the compatible phone link Republic Wireless Phones – Republic Help vary from information given when using the checker? A note and/or the common MFR #s should be added or change made to avoid member confusion.
