Every time we add a new phone to our portfolio we have team members test the capabilities. During this time our testers meet with our product team and give feedback on their experience with the new devices. Here’s what the testers had to say about the Moto Z3 Play.
Quick specs :
4 GB RAM
64 GB ROM
6” Full HD Super AMOLED display
All-day battery + TurboPower™ charging
My bigger hands enjoy the bigger screen for holding and texting. However, the slender width and somewhat slippery frame made the phone hard to grasp at times. The fingerprint sensor on the side is great for unlocking but can be activated unintentionally when picking up the phone or when pulling the phone out of a pocket. As a light to moderate user, battery life was great lasting about 24 hours and you can’t beat a turbocharger that charges the phone up in an hour. With Bluetooth capabilities, I’m not concerned about the lack of a headphone jack and I haven’t had a chance to use any Moto Mods but overall the Z3 Play gets the job done for me.
I was really pleasantly surprised by this phone. It was my first time using a phone from Moto’s “Play” line, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I learned is that I could still get all of the modern technology that I crave at a great value. I’m no professional photographer, but I thought the camera was great. I don’t play a ton of video games on my phone, but I didn’t have any issues in the few situations where I did play a game. In addition to that, the phone had a much better battery than I am used to, it had a fingerprint scanner that was placed in a very unique but natural feeling spot, and it even had facial recognition, which I found to be very useful. The best praise I can give a phone is to say that I would spend my own money to buy it for my personal use, and I would absolutely do that with the Moto Z3 Play.
I had a chance to test out the Moto Z3 Play device for a couple of weeks. I love the USB-C Turbo Charger that it comes with. The battery life on the phone was pretty good. I am a power user and typically can only last about 15 hours on a single charge with my current device. I was able to get through the day without any issues with this monster! The 6" screen is massive and takes a bit to get used too. Once you do, you will be very happy with the Super AMOLED display. I wasn’t a big fan of the fingerprint scanner on the side of the phone. It just seemed a bit out of place.
