Still no nougat (7) for my Moto X Pure

Issue Description

Have Moto X Pure, there has been no Nougat upgrade. Have repeatedly tried Settings/About Phone/ System Update. Claims my phone’s software is up to date, when I know it is not.

The much delayed Nougat update for the Moto X Pure has been available for some time now. As it is Motorola not Republic that pushes updates to its phones, the question as to why your phone hasn’t received it is arguably best posed to Motorola.

I have a deactivated Moto Pure. What I did was put a GSM SIM card in the phone. It then received the notification to upgrade and I upgraded over WiFi. So my question to you is, 1. do you have a good cell signal in your area? 2. Are you also connected to WiFi to receive the download? Also, from what I understand the download is only for phones on GSM network not Sprint/CDMA. Please see:

I’m wondering if there is a simple way to get Android 7 on your phone without messing up the phone’s pairing with your possible CDMA SIM, by putting a GSM SIM in your phone and not activating it like I did. Does anyone know if this would work? OR is this OTA not compatible with CDMA? Was the OTA ever release for CDMA?

Hi @littletoucan,

Although both did not happen at the same time, the Nougat update was made available to Moto X Pures outfitted with either of our SIM cards.
