Swiping Issue phone stuck

Phone won’t swipe to open and put in pass code. Can’t retrieve anything in the phone. Now phone keeps ringing and I can’t answer it at all. Moto x 1st generation. Touch isn’t working. Phone got a little wet but not much. Phone is fully charged. It’s been great until now. Please help me I have everything in this phone !!!

Step 1:

Force Reboot

In the unlikely event that your device becomes unresponsive, try a force reboot.

Press and hold the power key for 7- 10 seconds to perform a force reboot on the device.

Note: Data on your phone will not be deleted

Hi I did the reboot- it activated, but it still won’t respond to touch or swiping. The phone won’t turn off completely. Still stuck.

It might have been damaged when it got wet or there still might be some moisture in the phone. This is how I dry a phone:

  1. Power off the phone.

2, Heat the phone with a hair dryer until it is moderately warm.

  1. Bury the phone in Minute Rice (20 times as absorbent as conventional rice).

  2. Repeat 2 and 3 every few hours for about 3 days.

If the digitizer has been damaged and drying the phone doesn’t fix it then much of what you have on the phone will be restored by Google onto a replacement phone. Moreover, you might still be able to access the phone’s contents by connecting it to a USB port on you computer.

Thank you for your help. But can I open the phone to dry out better? The phone seems to be quite tight. I’m afraid to open.

@cyn

The phones are glued together and not so easy to separate. There is one thing you can do better than @billg’s great advice is to spend a few dollars at a craft store and buy some Desiccant. This is the stuff they put in pill bottles and is super absorbent.
