I’ve had a lot of trouble the last few months getting my phone to recognize there is an update. I realize Google typically slowly rolls out the update across their customer base, but it’s been into the next month or two and my phone still doesn’t recognize that an update is available. Anyone have advice on debugging/fixing, other than factory reset?

Thanks!

My wife and both have the 5X and I would get updates weeks ahead of her. For example, my phone got the latest update in early January and she just got the update notification yesterday. No matter how many times I checked for updates, it never finds it.

We wiped the phone late last year and it had no effect. I don’t think a hard reset will help you. :frowning:

You can always sideload:

Thanks @cbwahlstrom. I finalize realized I could sideload (just this last weekend), without factory reset/wiping/losing my data, after researching it again. It was relatively easy and I’m currently on the January security update for 8.1.
