Terrible help desk service

Does anyone else have absolutely terrible assistance? I have tried twice to get cellular service added to a phone that only has wi fi right now and have spent hours waiting for answers and looking things up, nothing of which worked, and no one responds. I am going tomorrow to buy a phone from a different company.


in order to upgrade from a WiFi plan to a Cell base plan you need to go into the Republic App (while on WiFi) on the phone tap the plus sign and then change plan and select the plan you want (if your WiFi only plan was 1.0 you’ll need to pick a 1.0 plan until your next billing date and then you may move to a 2.0 plan (if you want or keep the 1.0 plan)

There are two chat support options:

  1. Chat with a customer expert: Republic Help The link on the left of the page would probably have gotten your issue resolved in under 5 minutes.

  2. Chat with a Republic support person: Republic Help The link on the top right marked “Chat Now” would have gotten your issue resolved in under 5 minutes.

Then, there are lots of documents that address the question. Searching “Change Plan” yields a number of results, including: Republic Wireless Plans 2.0: Republic Refund and Republic Wireless 1.0 & Beta Plans both of which provide directions for making the change, depending on what plan you are on.
