This is my son’s phone, he has just talk and text, no data. He is using Android Messages (on a Motorola G4). Since he had no data available, I turned off cellular data. Is that required for texting, and if so, does turning data on expose him to potential charges if he uses it accidentally?
Where did you turn off cellular data? If in Android settings, please undo that as Republic’s blended WiFi/cell service does indeed require cell data when away from WiFi.
Please be assured cell data used for text messaging is included in the base price of your son’s plan. He will not be exposed to additional charges nor can he accidentally use cell data for other purposes such as accessing the Internet.
