Upgrading from a Moto G (1st Gen) to a Moto G6 Amazon Prime Exclusive

The Moto G (1st Gen) I got from Republic about 4 years ago apparently doesn’t have a removable sim card. There is nothing to push in where the videos on youtube tell me the sim card is supposed to be.

So, how do I upgrade my phone? I got the new phone as a gift.

OK, I think I’ve figured it out. I need to buy a BYOP sim card from Republic.

just for add information your Moto G 1st Gen was a CDMA only phone (No GSM no LTE) therefor there is no SIM in the phone

Note that there is a plan change between the Legacy phones and the 3.0 phones, the 3.0 phones must use the My Choice Plans Affordable, No-Contract Cell Phone Plans | Republic Wireless

I would also like to note that the BYOD SIM is for the GSM partner (T-Mobile) where you Moto G 1st was on the CDMA partner (Sprint) if you find your coverage worst with the new phone you can request a CDMA SIM
