Apparently Google with an assist from Republic’s former corporate parent isn’t content to let RCS have all the attention:
Bandwidth’s Brad Roldan mentioned in the linked corporate blog is the Bandwidth staffer who once ran Republic’s then sister service RingTo.
Among the tidbits is the fact that wireless carriers are getting ready to begin blocking SMS messages from companies using short code aggregators (multiple entities sharing a single short code).
Bandwidth’s solution offers another path by enabling “regular” telephone numbers for so-called A2P (application to person) mass texting. Perhaps, we might interest the fine folks at the SSA? Bandwidth’s solution works for two-factor conformation codes as well. Google already uses it.
