Voicemail now requires password to access ... Never assigned one

I have subscribed to Republic Wireless for over three years. I never set up a voice mail password or code. However, today, while attempting to access my voicemail, from my Republic Wireless phone … “Please enter password, followed by the pound key …” Does anyone know what’s going on? And, if so, how to fix this annoyance?

Change to Dial-in Access to Voicemail

This is not cool Republic. You should have let us know that you were doing this. Having to discover this at a most unfortunate moment and then having to Google for and implement the solution on-the-fly is not nice.

All of our phones past the Motorola DEFY nolonger require calling in to check voicemail. All voicemail messages are already downloaded to the phone and can be played back without any login.

When you get a voicemail, you can check your message from the notification on your phone.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.

  2. Tap Voicemail Voicemail notification.
You can see your voicemails listed in your Phone app.

  3. Open the Phone app phone.

  4. At the top, tap three vertical dots. Click History then Voicemail
