I am trying to setup the Bluetooth on my Lexus LS460. I have tried several times to set it up without success. The car is asking me to enter the Bluetooth passkey into the phone. How do I do that? I cannot locate any part of the phone’s “Settings” that will allow such an entry.
Here are the steps from Motorola’s website
Turn on and connect to a Bluetooth device
To turn on and connect Bluetooth hands-free headset(s), car kit(s), or other Bluetooth devices:
- Touch Apps . Touch Settings.
- Turn Bluetooth on . **To extend battery life, turn Bluetooth off **when not in use.
- Touch Bluetooth to scan for available Bluetooth devices (make sure your device is in pairing mode).
- Touch the Bluetooth device to select it
- Enter the passkey or pair code: 0000 or 1234
- Touch the device name again to connect to it if it doesn’t connect automatically.
If your device will not connect to the Bluetooth accessory, reset the Bluetooth device. Check your accessory user guide for reset details.
During the Bluetooth pairing/connection process, some car kits will require you to accept the PBAP and MAP notifications to successfully establish a connection. Do not ignore or reject the request - it may cause the car kit to disconnect and try to reestablish a connection. This can result in a continuous sequence of connections and disconnections.
When prompted, allow the PBAP and MAP requests and click the Always Allow check box so you only need to accept these requests once. If the connection / disconnection cycle has already occurred, disconnect (un-pair) the phone from the car kit and reconnect again. When you reconnect, accept the PBAP and MAP requests and click the Always Allow checkbox.
The complete description for ‘pairing’ your phone is provided on your phone by the Moto Help (which can be found in the App drawer … the big Blue ??)
If the app doesn’t show two Tabs ‘Learn & Fix’ you probably should update it via Google Play
