I know that some companies are not yet recognizing VOIP as capable of sending/receiving texts. However, more and more often, I am getting the massage that my cell number is not valid. How do I as an end user inform these companies that republic exists and can send / receive texts?
Contact the companies and let them know that they are losing a potential customer.
It unfortunately isn’t likely that simple. This whole topic is loaded up with FCC regulations, NIST standards, banking regulations, Know Your Customer post-911 rules and whole bunch of other regulations that are created after industry lobbying by usually a group of non-technical folks.
