Can anyone at RW expand upon the technical differences of how call audio is encoded when routed over wifi vs cell? ( i have seen some techs post here in Community before)
Audio is noticeably clearer and higher quality over wifi.
Over cell, audio is more compressed and lower quality with much more clipping.
For example, using TeamSpeak, you can set various audio quality levels.
Opus 96k or 32k narrow or wide band etc.
I would think wifi has more available bandwidth(?) to make use of higher quality audio codec settings.
I am curious on this, because the drastic volume difference when a RW users phone switches from wifi to cell thing that I posted about quite some time ago, still happens, and I am wondering just how much more, better, having the call over wifi really is.
